Ukraine's gross domestic product (GDP) in terms of prices fixed in 2007 grew by 6% in the second quarter of 2010 year-over-year, the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine reported on Monday.
GDP grew 3.9% in the second quarter of 2010 compared to the first quarter of this year, taking into account seasonal factors, according to the committee.
The state statistics committee didn't specify any other data, in particular the dynamics of GDP growth in the first half of this year and the nominal GDP.
Ukraine's Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said that Ukraine's GDP in the first half of 2010 had grown by 6.3%.
As reported, the Ukrainian government projects that GDP in Ukraine in 2010 will rise 3.7% after a 15.1% decline in 2009.
The Statistics Committee reported that GDP increased in January-March 2010 by 4.9% versus the first quarter of 2009.
The World Bank in July 2010 revised upwards Ukraine's GDP growth forecast in 2010 to 3.5% from 2.5%, and in 2010 to 4% from 3.5%.
The International Monetary Fund in late July said it expected Ukraine's GDP to grow by 3.7% in 2010, and by 4.3% in 2011.
With last year's GDP decline, the country's GDP fell to 63% of the level seen in 1990, which corresponds to the level registered late in 2005.
